REVIEW

 A loving story about life in college, choices in life and relationships. This is the first book I've ever read from this author and I enjoyed every last sentence.

Nadia has moved from home in order to study. She moved in woth three more of her friends yet she can't take her eyes from Ty, the gorgeous man of the apartmant below, who also happens to be a dad, at 24.

Although at first the relationship between Nadia and Ty began as "frineds with benefits" quickly it developed into romance. Yet both of them had the maturity to recognise themselves for their choices.
Nadia's friends also worked into helping her woth her problems while the setting for the next two books was presented.
An enjoyable read, for the lovers of contemporary. :)

Starting with action and a mystery behind the dragon's curiosity "Broken Aro" is a strong book with magic, many paranormal creatues and romance. The family is strong the heroine knows her limits, yet tries to hold on her innocence. A great read for those who like fantasy at the close style of "Lord of the Rings".

I had been waiting for this certain story to unfold since its cover reveal. Knowing already Martina Boone from her site "Adventures in YA Publishing" I had the feeling that "Compulsion" would be an extraodinary read.

And it was. Starting from Barie, a girl with the power to find lost items, and heading towards her aunt's home in order to live after her mother's death, we get to know the history of three families. Put in the mysterious man who appears in flames at night, the love crush Barie develops and well hidden secrets, the book becomes a masterpiece which combines perfectly elements of supernatural, goth, mystery and romance.

Not to mention that my heart broke with Mark, Barie's godfather. Knowing how that feels from personal experience my feelings towards the heroine were mutual.
I know that October is going to be the most busy season since many knowing titles will also be released but Martina's "Compulsion" has already earned a seat at the top!

Although sci-fi, and I mean the hard-core ones, weren't always on my to-read list, I was surprised by the title of this one and the summary. Gabe's brother invents the 'bubble' a machine which can erase you from the universe for a minute, then bring you back again. Despite the great expectations of this invention Gabe's brother disappears, leaving Gabe behind with a singe message.

So Gabe begins entering the machine but after some time the concequences affect him too...

There was a great deal of physics laws in this one as also many details and mystery. My only opposition was the fact that Gabe rushed and entered the machine without, in my opinion, thinking it first. I mean you see the machine, do you go inside?

Other than that I really liked the book and I hope the author to continue writing more of this genre. :)

I can't wait for the full book to be published but so far Jodi has created yet another amazing world of beauty and danger.

He is tortured. 
He carves love. 
He is Hook.

If I had to conclude my review in three sentences that would be them. This book was mindblowing in every sense from changing rapidly my childhood point of view for the story of "Peter Pan" to the character of "Hook" in general.

We all knew that Hook, mostly from the Disney movie, the adaption of the movie "Hook" and "Peter Pan", was the evil guy who mostly gets eaten, beaten and humiliated. In the book he is a tortured character with a painful past. From a father with great expectations for him to the prisons of the French James Hookbridge becomes a man of hate who sails later at the Carribean as a pirate.

If he met Jack Sparrow in the way, I have no idea ;)

But a spell and his behavior thrust him into Neverland, where he become a toy to Peter's mischief. For the first time, Peter was viewed as a villain, victim of his innocence, since there were no grown-ups to teach him, who likes to destroy Hook in every level. Stella was an amazing character. Smart, beautiful through Hook's eyes and witty, she had a different perception of Neverland and the way she loved Hook was the sweetest part of the book.
I would love to obtain this book on paperback if the chance will ever be given to me and even more after all the movies and stories we've seen and heard, I think that this one in particular would look great at the big screen. :)

Zombies people! And not the "Warm Bodies" kind! These are breathing, eating and drinking lots and lots of Water!

Grayson can't wait for the day to meet his Save, the person who will help him turn back into human. But sweet Cori is nothing like that. Shy but strong, kind and gentle she tries to help Grayson and he finds himself torn between his duty and love for her!

Don't let the cover scare you! This is a strong story with both strong main and secondary characters like Aiken and Peg, with mystery and intense feelings. The story for me could easily rival "Warm Bodies" since it gives depth on the zombie-virus, not making them mindless flesh eating monsters. They feel, love and suffer.

The author manages to create a strong setting with the great potential to become even better! :)

Review: "Goddess Test" by Aimee Carter

I had this book on my e-book self for a while relucent of reading it. I did then and I found myself quite... intrugued.

When she reached Eden to have her mother's last wish completed, Kate finds more than she was waited for. A mansion, a mysterious boy and the whole Olympian Gods. With a murderer on the loose and her raging feelings for Henry, Kate will have to be brave as also open enough to love.

I liked the development, I didn't expect the last chapters to become like that as also the way the feelings were shown. Henry was truly a pained character and I wished for him the happy ending. Usually we see male characters who are strong and reliable and Henry wasn't like that. Instead Kate was the one to warm him up and teach him love and hope.

For that quick read I am hoping to find out more about them on the second book! :)

Review: "Elusion" by Claudia Gabel

The concept of having a dreamscape of virtual reality was really appealing to me when I first saw this book. While I waited to see many things, I was a little disappointed.

Ree and Patrick know about Elusion the app which can tranfer you into the "Escapes" virtual places where you can relax. But when probles start to arise friends are tested and mystery prevails.
The plot felt a little too rushed for me and the love triangle was annoying. While I liked the mystery and didn't expect the ending, I really hope to see more of Josh on the second book "Etherworld".

On the other hand, there's a detailed description of the destroyed planet, where the people need oxygen masks to breathe and acid rain makes your eyes burn. At least there are some messages coming from the book. ;)

I think that Maggie was able to present Faeries as they really are known. No glitter or sweet talk, but bloodthirsty, with mischief and secrets. They are the actual presentation of the Fae Folk!

What I mean?

Dee has a talent in music, a harpist! But when Luke starts following hier and clovers appear everywhere she goes, Dee and her family are thurst into the world of a murderous queen and a prisoned soul. For its length "Lament" covers the plot nicely, nut there was not such depth on the romance. While on "Shiver" Trilogy you get teary and heart broken all over, on this book Maggie still hangs on her experimental yet unique writing. :)

Dee is strong while Luke in some parts become too much of a martyr with Dee helping him to survive. I hope the second book will have more of Dee-Luke scenes.

Review: "Afterwolrds" by Scott Westerfeld

Lizzie and Darcy seem not to have much in common. Darcy moves to New York in order to write her book while Lizzie finds herself admist a horrible accident. "Afterworlds" is their story told by two different POVs: third for Darcy and first for Lizzie.

"Afterworlds" as a novel carries many elements and gives information about the publishing world while there's also the author's reference to NaNoWriMo, YA Drinks Night and how the publishing agency works. Through Darcy's eyes were get an eyeful of this world and for my part, I really enjoyed the realistic descriptions and the way Darcy interacted with her surroundings.

In Darcy's part on the other hand, we get a strong metaphysic experience, which tend to reach the boundaries of creepy and a bittersweet feeling of the afterlife. Darcy's romance felt a little rushed for me and I would prefer to have the whole romantic theme more extended at both storylines.

Despite the 600 pages "Afterworlds" is a strong novel, from an author who became well known with the "Uglies Series". If ever will be a second novel on this part I would like to see to it. :)

A novel with mystery, gripping emotions and characters who slowly reveal themselves and their emotions. While it is seperated on three parts, the reader can't lose the fluid plot or the realistic descriptions.

Tessa's POV is emotionally packed and her emotions for Tristan grow steadily until there is no escape.


 Run To You Part Two: Second Glance by Clara Kensie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

On the second part thruths are revealed and ction fills the plot, while Tessa and Tristan struggle to keep their relationship as nornal as they can. But when agents appear and take Tessa away secrets make her shatter.

On the second installment I found Tristan's behavior a little to cheeky for me but judging what he had to do, I might be able to fogive him. :)


Third Charm by Clara Kensie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

On the third part still under the impression of betrayal Tessa finds out that she too has an ability, an ability which covers most of the book and finally reveals her family's secret. While the ending was bittersweet, I still have more questions about her brother and sister.

Overall, the series is amazing, emotional, the work of an author who has the potential to write eve better action packed stories!

On the other hand, Luc has to fight his feelings for Inrid as also deal with a new gargoyle, Hunters and the warth of the angels.

Told by multiple POVs we get a real picture of all the situations as also the characters' feelings. While the faint love triangle exists, it is overpowered by the actions of Gabby and Nolan, Garrison and Chelly.

All the while there is also a backstage action, which I hope it will be cleared at the third and final book "The Wondrous and the Wicked".

Until then I am going to re-read "The Beautiful and the Cursed"! :)

 Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout

What an end! With tears, love, humor and all the elemetns which make Jennifer's writing unique! After the clearing of the misunderstanding from the fourth book's end, Daemon and Katy will deal with crazy Luxens, bloodthirsty Aurums. We aslo meet characters from "Obsession" so if you haven't read the novella be sure to do it! There is still the double POV of Katy and Daemon and we have also more relationships between Dee, Archer, Dawson and Beth.

The ending of the series was hopeful, bittersweet with the chance of 'holy Deamon alien babies'! ;)

Hello everyone! While I was on vacation I got to read some really good and some partially good books! For today and for the next two days I am going to post their reviews and also have two awesome giveaways!

Behind Closed Doors by Tamara Lee

Tamara Lee was one of the first authors who made a friend request on me. :) I liked the summary and decided to read "Behind Closed Doors". It was one of the romances I had for branch (fantasy is my breakfast!)

Kyla, devastated by her boyfriend's cheating and after her friend's help, joins a show which equals on X-factor. There she meets one of the judges who develops feelings for her and soon Ky discovers her talent on music too.

Despite the little too-planned plot, I liked the way Kyla struggled with her feelings and how her self-confidence became better. Also, we get the message that not always glitter and spotlights bring hapiness. :)
The ending? Sweet and realistic and the heroine will become a new star on her cosmos.

The Forsaken by Lisa M. Stasse

When I read the summary I thought that maybe, just maybe I'll see somethng different. Well, while the plot was original, "Forsaken" gave the sense of re-reading a mix of "Hunger Games" and "Divergent".

Aleena fails to pass a test, which is supposed to show if she'll ever become criminal. At the end she is shipped off to the "Forsaken Land" where another exiled teens try to survive through a civil war between them.

The action while evident on the book, was scarse and the romance was a little too off for my standards; someone could say that it belonged to the type of insta-love.

Characters like Rika, David, Gadya were even more useful thatn Liam and Aleena and quite some scenes between their dialogues felt rushed and quick.

The first book ends with a peomise of rebellion but so far I don't think that I'll touch the second one soon.

Paralel universes, sci-fi, analogs and romance! Elements that drew me to this book, kept me hooked until the ending and left me with many questions for the sequel.

What surprised me in this book was the triple (yes TRIPLE) POV: Sasha's, third POV for Thomas and Juliana. The descriptions worked perfectly making the story flow smoothly leaving vague iamges of this another world and giving to the reader the taste of infinity.

Sasha is a strong character yet sometimes she finds herself trapped from others' expectations. Thomas has to deal with both his affection for Sasha and his duty. The blending causes problems and brings forth betrayal, tears and revealings!

I reccomend this book to those who like mystery and sci-fi yet not bother accusing the POVs. For me it was refreshing!

A great story with many surprises and a satisfying ending!
With the Darkling rising in power and Alina weak from her last battle the whole world of Ravka is under destruction. Alina's only hope? The Firebird.

With her feelings for Mal and her fear for the future Alina and her friends will have to fight to death in order to stop the Darkling. A character that was really worth my attention was Nikolai. Even everything happened to him, he rose to the occasion and I was glad he remained until the end!

Then there's Mal! Oh my, his words, actions and devotion to Alina was heartbreaking. Even the Darkling at some point seemed to be 'human' enough for me. Leigh knows how to plot a good story with a nice russian twist in it as also planning a world with maps, customs and clothes!

The ending is promising. A world of new adventure will be revealed, set into a time paralel to "The Grisha". I can only hope to see more of her writing!

I was hopefull for a good ending in this story and the three POVs didn't bother me at all! While Natalie and Ash try to find each other and end the war, Purian Rose has set a lethal plan in stone. All the characters were portayed nicely with the pain, fear and anguish but I was taken back from the loss, thus the 1 star less.

And while the ending was a little too planned for my tastes, the last twenty pages had me gripping the ereader like crazy! That I liked a lot! A good recommendation to those who haven't read the series ans I hope to see more from the author! :)

When I learnt that a new historical series was to be shown on TV I decided to begin reading. I found myself lost in a world of Scots, wild horses, love, politics and even more History. When Claire, marries woman, nurse of WW II finds herself at the 18th century, well we get to know everything, from the tiniest deatils of life to the aspects of human nature.

The author creates a livid world of passion, intigue and fighting. Claire is a strong character, Jamie is a sweetheart, but a steel heart at the same time, while the humor in most cases was a good relief of all the pressure and the heavy atmosphere.

I will head to the second book, keeping the promise of the ending from this one. It is really promising!

I laughed in every turning page! This is a helluva absolute summer read!

Mia and Ethan wake up after an one night stand they both don't remember and soon they found out that they'll have to compete for the same work position! Not only they'll have to fight their mutual attracyion but also deal with their co-workers and past.

The story goes smoothly till the end, giving you the impression of a stand-alone but I can see that there'll be also a sequel! And since Veronica Rossi is one of the co-authors I have no doubt of the result! :)

I got to say, even after two books of Travis Maddox, I am never bored of Jamie's writing style!

"Beautiful Oblivion" takes place at the timeline of "Walking Disaster" and centers around Cami, a uni student who falls upon Trenton Maddox. She is already in relationship with T.J. but it seems that it doesn't work so well. On the other hand she had a f*ed up family, who like to blame everything on her.

Trenton on the other hand has tats, makes jokes and likes drinking like all Maddoxs. BUT he cares deeply for Cami and even Olive, the girl who babysits. Through the story we see the growing affection as they both deal with their problems and friends.

When the end comes and the last line is read, especially I was left with my jaw down to the floor! I realized who the next Maddox will be and I am sure that you will found out too, if you read the book.
I can't, CAN'T wait for more Maddox Brothers but for now I will head to a reread if the time comes! ;)

I had high expectations of this story. Well, it was interesting at first to learn from pieces what happened to the world; why nature is so violent and how the people became like this.

In "Blood Red Road" Saba lives with her father, her brother Lugh and her sister Emmi into a desertland. One day an armed troop appears, kills her father and abducts her brother. From that point Saba and her sister will travel in order to find Lugh.

While the plot was interesting, there was a strange use of words and grammar in this book. For those who'll read it, don't worry, it's not fault from the publication, just the author's way to keep in with the enviromant of her story. From the characters, Jack was the strongest of all while at some points I got really irritated with Saba and even found Emmi cooler.
Even the bad guy has a hard time STAYING dead.

I hope the next book to be more interesting from the first. Until then: 3 of 5 stars

When I first began reading "Ten tiny breaths" I never expected the series to evolve into one of my favorite contemporary, together with Colleen Hoover's of course!

On "Five ways to fall" we get to see Ben's story; you know the guy whom Kacey tried to (ehm) pin on the bathroom? Yup, that one! After finishing his work on Penny's he goes to law school. On a trip down to Mexico he meets with Reese, the total type of kick-ass heroine.
And then hell erupts!

It was one of the most enjoyable books of the series. Less emotional than ten tiny breaths and four seconds to lose and was also placed chronologically between Storm's wedding and Caine's research; the main characters focus on their 'friendship' at first, which involves lots of paintball and office pranks and later at the admittance of their feelings.

Their stories were heart breaking and a little planned for my tastes but I enjoyed the ending. I only hope this will not be Tucker's last book.

I've got to say that still Cole knows how to be a adorable, really intimidating singer! That makes me want to hear him sing!

On a companion novel from the Shiver series, Cole and Isabel meet again on L.A. She tries to settle her life back, after returning from Minnesotta while Cole comes back for her. That's at least the first reason. Put in a ridiculous reality show (really insulting) and their double POV and you have Maggie's poetry in flesh (or in paper).

Even if it seems to be the end, I would love to have them all back, Sam, Grace, Cole and Isabel. While the news of the upcoming movie still are scattered all around the Web, i can't stop anticipating the novel on moving to motion picture. Until next time 5 of 5 stars
