REVIEW
I received an e-ARC from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
Words can not describe how excited I was to finally get the chance to read yet another upcoming book by Ilona Andrews. The Hidden Legacy series, first with Nevada and now with Catalina is one of my top favorites...to be honest, I do not know what is most beloved of the authors' books, Kate Daniels, the Baylor family, or the Innkeeper.
Our story starts with a bang and it does not stop at all. We have unstoppable action and revealed secrets that tie up all the previous books and some revelations that I did not expect...well, to be honest, I suspected but wanted to confirm. Alessandro as always was excellent and Catalina was a badass. There were some parts of the plot that felt a little rushed but I did not mind at all since it matched the pace of the story.
Arabella had some good scenes too apart from the rest of the family and I would really like to have the chance to read her own story after those final scenes that left me slack-mouthed.
Ruby Fever is an excellent and amazing read and completed Catalina's story while also preparing the scene for any possible spin-off series, should my favorite duo decides to write one. Abs0-fucking-lutely recommended.
About the authors:
Ilona Andrews is the pseudonym for a husband-and-wife writing team. Ilona is a native-born Russian and Gordon is a former communications sergeant in the U.S. Army. Contrary to popular belief, Gordon was never an intelligence officer with a license to kill, and Ilona was never the mysterious Russian spy who seduced him. They met in college, in English Composition 101, where Ilona got a better grade. (Gordon is still sore about that.)
Gordon and Ilona currently reside in Oregon with their two children, three dogs and a cat. They have co-authored two series, the bestselling urban fantasy of Kate Daniels and romantic urban fantasy of The Edge.
