Double ARC Review: "Gambling with his Heart" (The Ex-Con Who Loved Me novella) & "Cirque de Lune" (A Cursed Lands Collection Novella) by Emma Hamm

Today's post is dedicated to Emma Hamm one of my auto-buy authors who doesn't know when to stop writing and delivering books that can make you equally swoon and sob from the feels. The following novellas are e-ARC and the author has plans on publishing the second later, apart from the anthology. The first will be part of tie-in stories, from what I have gathered after I have finished the novella.

Gambling with his Heart by Emma Hamm

Summary from GoodReads

Love is supposed to be easy, unless you're in love with a convicted felon.

Anna Larraby was a quiet woman with a quiet life. She wasn’t the wild and crazy sister, but the respectable and responsible one. Until her boss sends her to Vegas for the weekend.

What happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas. Especially when you fall into bed with a bad boy who knows how to keep a woman up all night. When she realizes too late that her one-night hottie spent the last seven years in prison, she hightails it back to New York.

Though she tries to forget his dimples and superman curl, fate has other plans. Ben shows up on her doorstep with a business proposition. The only problem is, all Anna wants to do is mix business with pleasure.

For fans of contemporary romance, alpha males, and bad boys!

REVIEW

I received an e-ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

A night-stand turns into something more in this first attempt on Emma's contemporary writing. Anna and Ben are two very different people and yet they couldn't fit more with each other. Not to mention that their story should have more length than this novella.

Ben gives an opportunity to Anna and while I did feel a teeny-tiny bit that Ben used Anna, I hope to have the chance and see their relationship grow. Overall, the plot is interesting and I can't wait to read the story of the mysterious new benefactor.

REVIEW

I received an e-ARC of one of the novellas from author Emma Hamm in exchange for an honest review.

The story by Emma Hamm made think highly of The Greatest Showman! But without the dancing and the swooning. It's a story of love, hidden abilities, beauty, and family. I am seriously wondering if this lovely one will become later a full series! Emma Hamm's story follows a disgraced doctor, who broke up with his fiance and he was beaten to death. Then he is saved by the traveling circus where one woman has a unique and dangerous ability.

Love and wonderful descriptions add in this story making you think about it even after it's done.

About the author:

I started dreaming of stories when I was just a little girl, and immediately ran upstairs to act them out the way they should have happened. Dreaming became reality.
Reality became books.
