Summary from GoodReads

Eighteen-year-old Trinity Marrow may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her unique gift is part of a secret so dangerous that she’s been in hiding for years in an isolated compound fiercely guarded by Wardens—gargoyle shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they’ll devour her, flesh and bone, to enhance their own powers.

When Wardens from another clan arrive with disturbing reports that something out there is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity’s safe world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she’s ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own that will upend her world yet again—but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity’s secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she’ll have to put her trust in Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed…

REVIEW

I received an e-ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Return to the world of demons and gargoyles with the new spin-off series of Storm and Fury! Before I begin let me tell you that this is the spin-off series of Jennifer's other series, The Dark Elements, so it's advised to read those books first. If you have read the books then that's all right. If not you are WARNED that there are spoilers of the first books in this review.

Trinity lives in the Warden community of West Virginia. Safe, supposedly, from the demonic activity she tries to hide her secret while also battling with retinitis pigmentosa, a progressive disease that will leave her blind at some point in her life (note here that this was a great addition from the author as she mentions in her afterword.)

When her life is threatened by an Upper Class demon, and her best friend is abducted, Trinity will travel to DC in order to find solutions...along with Zayne, the Warden heir to the seat of the DC clan.

If you know who Zayne is, then you get your treat as his story unfolds side by side with Trinity's! I enjoyed their banter, their discussions and how mature Trinity was in some instances, compared to Zayne. The story is fast-paced with lots of fighting, swooning and...hotness.

The story has many twists and turns with lots of surprises. I didn't expect the plot twist and I surely didn't expect Zayne to have so many emotional scars. The way Jennifer Armentrout weaves emotion and action creates an explosive combination that will leave you wanting more of her characters.

I also enjoyed the cameo appearances of Layla and Roth. And Bambi too! I love that snake to the bits!

The ending is kind of a cliffhanger both in the plot and the way Trinity's and Zayne's relationship will be from now on. I seriously can't wait for the next book!
