Do you like magic? Do you like traveling into faraway lands? Do you also fancy auburn haired men with strange capes and hmm witty attitudes?

Then this book will blow your mind!

Recently, I read the review of the same book from Martika on  fANGIRLconfessions and we both had the same problem regarding what kind of review we should right. Frankly, the book stayed on my to-be-reviewed- list for three weeks!

I pondered and whined, almost hit my head to wall wondering WHAT to write for this book. Honestly, I had never heard any of Victoria's works, excep from the Archived series, which were seen in many of my GoodReads friends. So I decided to begin with Vicious, her debut novel.

I was surprised to see that her writing was unique, plus she had set many moral issues.

On this book now, we have a plot well planned, for start, and two characters who seem to center around the action and the non-stop running. Kell, the magician with the freaking amazing coat, which could only rival Doctor Who's and Del, the brave kickass heroine who wants to live her life as an adventure.

So far they are the most out-of-the-standards characters I have read in 2015. They have a great deal of mystery to solve, three Londons to search and an evil which isn't quite settled in the end of the book. There is much more to tell and a nice base for more romance. I don't know why but the scenes on the last chapters reminded me on a nice fighting scene from a good anime, which I would love to see again and again.

With lush descriptions, witty dialogues, I couldn't put it down, even for an ebook and I highly anticipating the sequel!

REVIEW

I stumbled upon this book when I learnt about Victoriea's laters release, "A Darker Shade of Magic." I found thw audiobook and then I got lost in a wide moral battle between a bad and a half bad character.

Victor and Eli; two young men who wanted to change the world and instead they changed themselves into something EXTRA-Ordinary. I liked the flashbacks between now and ten years ago on the book and the narrator's voice did a great job.
There wasn't enough romance in it which i thought it would lack, but the action and the mystery stabilized that for me. ;)
This is the debut novel by Victoria and she knows how to thread moral issues with the super powers. She really shocked me; having super powers, doesn't automatically makes you defender of justise, like Superman for example.

The ending was unexpected but with the sense that good prevailed and life will go on, having a second chance, literally (you'll understand what i mean when you read the book!)

A brief story of the world: "Once upon a time, the wolrd was divided between US and the OTHERS. We humans live along with terrifying creatures of myhts and legends and an unstable alliance exists between us."  My style by the way! :)

Well, at least until Meg Corbin comes into Simon Wolfgard's life and the Others begin to realize that the world is not entirely black and white, meat and... useful meat. :)
I liked this kind if urban fantasy. Alexandra as a narrator had a great voice and the voices of the characters were given to their best abilities. I really have to wonder how in the span of four-five(?) books Anne Bishop will manage to give more of the romance element. It is there, slowly brewing but I want more of the funny pages and the way everyone became friendly with Meg.
The ending holds promise and I really going to head on the next audiobook!

An action packed sequel to one of the best sci-fi I've ever read! Should I cooment the cover? Or how Cricket is one of my most favorite heroines?

Sea of Stars follows right after Kricket and Trey find refuge on the military part of Ethar. With Kyon on their tow and an unavoidable war, the pair and their friends will not stop to rest. I felt the whole story like a race match. But between witty dialogues and action scenes, there was swoony romance. I believe that Trey is the only fiction hero I've read who retains his humor, his love and faith for the heroine even under the most diring circumstances!

I can't wait for book 3 but if you get the chance, make sure to also 'read' the book as an audiobook!

There was a county cruiser parked next to my car and there was a really freaking hot cop propped against the passenger side, long legs crossed at the ankles and arms folded across a yummy chest.
Reece was waiting.
I wasn’t really thinking about my list of priorities as I stared at him in the dimly lit parking lot. The muggy night air settled over me as he unfolded his legs and pushed off the cruiser. My gaze roamed over him. I was really just thinking about how the polyester material of his work pants moved along his thighs.
God, he walked with the kind of lethal grace that should be illegal.
Nick leaned in and whispered in my ear, “And right there is the main reason why I wouldn’t get with you.”
I tripped over my feet.
“Hey man.” Nick clapped Reece on the shoulder as he strolled past him. “Have a good night. See you Wednesday, Roxy.”
“Bye-bye.” I didn’t take my eyes off Reece. What was he doing here, at two thirty in the morning? It wasn’t the first time I’d stepped out of the bar late at night and found Reece waiting. Back before “the night thou shalt not repeat,” he used to do it every once in a while, when he was working the night shift and was taking lunch.
But it was something I hadn’t expected him to do again.
The sound of Nick’s motorcycle rumbling to life echoed throughout the otherwise silent parking lot. I needed to say something, because we were standing there, a few feet between us, staring at one another. “Hi.”

I glanced down, trying to stop the smile tugging at my lips. “It says ‘Ladies’ Man.’ What’s wrong with that?”
Long, thick lashes lifted and then he laughed again, that nice and light laugh that wrapped around me. “You are . . . you’re something else, Roxy.”
Shifting my weight from one foot to the next, I bit down on my lip. “I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a run-in-the-other-direction kind of thing.”
He took one step closer, his arms loose at his sides—his right arm brushing against the handle of his duty gun. The star on his chest seemed shinier than possible, and was eye level with me. “It’s . . . yeah, it’s a good thing.”

After reading the whole book it became official; Jodi knows how to tear apart your heart over her characters and create amazing cliffhangers! Both for the reason I loved her previous series and gor the new cover this book deserves 5 stars!

In a world full of magic, a strange yet dangerous problem, Wil and the few royal children who survived the destruction of their homeland, plan a rebellion. In the few chapters, we get to see lush descriptions of the world and the situation as also be introduced into many characters, who might be important or even deadly to Wil.

I can't wait for the full book to be published but so far Jodi has created yet another amazing world of beauty and danger.
