Summary from GoodReads

Joshua Miles has spent his early twenties spinning his wheels. Working dead-end jobs and living at home has left him exhausted and uninspired, with little energy to pursue his passion for graphic art. Until he meets Gemma Henare, a vivacious out-of-towner from New Zealand. What begins as a one-night stand soon becomes a turning point for Josh. He can’t get Gemma out of his head, even after she has left for home, and finds himself throwing caution to the wind for the first time in his life.

It’s not long before Josh is headed to New Zealand with only a backpack, some cash, and Gemma’s name to go on. But when he finally tracks her down, he finds his adventure is only just beginning. Equally infatuated, Gemma leads him on a whirlwind tour across the beautiful country, opening Josh up to life, lust, love, and all the messy heartache in between. Because, when love drags you somewhere, it might never let go—even when you know you have to say goodbye.

The next book following a character from "Where Sea meets Sky" is the one below

 Summary from GoodReads

From the USA TODAY bestselling author of Where Sea Meets Sky comes a new adult novel about a young woman who becomes a nanny in Capri and falls for her charges’ bad-boy brother.

It’s time for twenty-four-year-old Amber MacLean to face the music. After a frivolous six months of backpacking through New Zealand, Australia, and Southeast Asia, she finds herself broke on the Mediterranean without enough money for a plane ticket home to California. There are worse places to be stuck than the gorgeous coastline of southern Italy, but the only job she manages to secure involves teaching English to two of the brattiest children she’s ever met.

It doesn’t help that the children are under the care of their brooding older brother, Italian ex-motorcycle racer Desiderio Larosa. Darkly handsome and oh-so-mysterious, Derio tests Amber’s patience and will at every turn—not to mention her hormones.

But when her position as teacher turns into one as full-time nanny at the crumbling old villa, Amber finds herself growing closer to the enigmatic recluse and soon has to choose between the safety of her life back in the States and the uncertainty of Derio’s closely guarded heart.

Summary from GoodReads

War has begun. Arin is in the thick of it, with the East as his ally and the empire as his enemy. He’s finally managed to dismiss the memory of Kestrel, even if he can’t quite forget her. Kestrel turned into someone he could no longer recognize: someone who cared more for the empire than for the lives of innocent people—and certainly more than she cared for him. At least, that’s what he thinks.

But far north lies a work camp where Kestrel is a prisoner. Can she manage to escape before she loses herself? As the war intensifies, both Kestrel and Arin discover unexpected roles in battle, terrible secrets, and a fragile hope. The world is changing. The East is pitted against the West, and Kestrel and Arin are caught between. In a game like this, can anybody really win?

Review: "The Coldest Girl in Coldtown" by Holly Black

The Coldest Girl in ColdtownThe Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Summary from GoodReads

Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown's gates, you can never leave.

One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black.

REVIEW

This was my first read from Holly Black's books. While I long to read "White Cat" series this was the one that fell on my hands.

And I wasn't disappointed. The story takes place in America which is run by vampires. Rules have been established for the good of the people and Tana was unlucky enough to wake up after a party with corpses around her. Yup, that's how the book begins and it keeps you gripped especially after Tana finds her ex-boyfriend tied on abed and a vampire also tied next to him.

From there an adventure begins with the three of them trying to reach the Coldtown a ghetto designed for the vampires. In a spiral of emotions, mysteries and betrayal Tana will realise that she carries darkness and Gavriel is not who he seems.

The book was a nice action packed story but with some issues I would really like to mention. Tana is a strong willed person but she easily is swept away by the desicions of others. Many times she questions herself, especially after we get to see the past she has.
Aiden the ex-boyfriend, is an ass. Scuse my language but it's true. Many times he hinders Tana's and Gavriel's attempts for an easy travel and he makes everything difficult.

Add on them some extra characters who do little to the plot and I believe that this book was more a self expolation to the darkenss of human nature rather than a gothic, horror read.
But it was a nice story and it left me wondering what actually happened in the end. I'll never know and I hope Holly will write a sequel. :)

Review: "A Court of Thorns and Roses" (A Court of Thorns and Roses #1) by Sarah J. Maas

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summary from GoodReads

A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

REVIEW

One year of waiting and FINALLY the book got into my lovely grabby hands!!! Srah J Maas, is simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
She actually write a story in which the elements of YA and NA are bordering each other! But let's take it from the beginning.

I have mentioned in many reviews, and gifs, that any retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" is absolutely a favorite. But in this Fae version don't expect the Disney type. All the plot fell more to the original novel of Beauty and the Beast by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont which was published in 1756. Adding to that all the magic the beauty and the description of Sarah we get a new story full of mystery and swoony-worth romance.

The plot had a good sense of start, middle and ending. Feyre kills a wolf into the forest and retribution comes in the face of a furry, clawed beast who wiskes her from her family and home into the world of Fae. There she realizes that everyone wears a mask and the Beast is none other than Tamlin the Fae with powers and secrets.

Feyre was a strong willed heroine. Apart from the point in which she had low self-esteem, since no one ever cared for her, she excels on her witty nature, her funny discussions with Lucien and her feelings for Tamlin. Even her courage towards the last part of the book is admirable.

Tamlin was one of the best surprises (yes Tika, your husband is safe from me!). As the one who has power he has to bear the burden of his choices and live through lies and deception. He is supportive and helps Feyre in every way he can, both on showing her how precious she is as a person and with his feelings towards her. His description is also pretty cool and I can prove it with a fanart pic of him from Tumblr! Plus, despite his secrets he is strong and a warrior.

Lucien was also a surprise. His backstory was sad, which reminded me highly of Rowan from "Throne of Glass" series (you know which book i mean). He is sarcastic with a fox mask, go figure, and he helps Feyre, even if he despises humans.

In general the ending of the book lef some problems unsolved with an emotional breakdown for Feyre and the possibility of more interfering in her relationship with Tamlin. But it was a great read, refreshing and based on my all time favorites.
But after finishing the book, I was left struck with loss. How will I stand it until May 2016 for the second book?

Sarah lives in Bucks County, PA, and over the years, she has developed an unhealthy appreciation for Disney movies and bad pop music. REVIEW

In the breathtaking sequel of "The World without End" Finn and Nurrin must travel into more Havens in order to find Collin. But the zombies are evolving and the Havens will not be prepared for the new attacks. Whatsmore, Nurrin's feelings for Finn will be tested when his past will slowly be revealed.

With more mystery than action in this one, I don't believe that the book suffered from second-book-syndrome. Nazarea did a fine job keeping me on edge with the double POV of Finn and Nurrin along with introducing new characters and even more insiders of the minds of the people who live in this hellish future.

I couldn't truly rlate to Finn. He is such a closed character in everything to the point of being annoying. True, he is a badass with weapons and such but his blank mask he always projects caused the second cliffhanger I got to see in a series. Seriously, I don't know if I will survive to write the review on the third book!

Overall, with more zombies in the horizon, let's hope to see more of ction, love and hope!

About the author:

Nazarea Andrews is an avid reader and tends to write the stories she wants to read. She loves chocolate and coffee almost as much as she loves books, but not quite as much as she loves her kids. She lives in south Georgia with her husband, daughters, and overgrown dog.

I add all the books I read--I'm a little obsessive. I don't, however, rate or review all of them. I love talking about books, so feel free to say hi! :)
