Release Day Blitz: "SMUT" by Karina Halle

Welcome to the Release Day Blitz for SMUT, the new romantic comedy by Karina Halle! A dorky, funny story about love, university and books!

                                    Smut AMAZON - Copy

What happens when the kink between the pages leads to heat between the sheets?

All Blake Crawford wants is to pass his creative writing course, get his university degree and take over his dad’s ailing family business. What Amanda Newland wants is to graduate at the top of her class, as well as finally finish her novel and prove to her family that writing is a respectful career.

What Blake and Amanda don’t want is to be paired up with each other for their final project but that’s exactly what they both get when they’re forced to collaborate on a writing piece. Since Amanda thinks Blake is a pushy asshole (with a panty-melting smirk and British accent) and Blake thinks Amanda has a stick up her ass (though it’s brilliant ass), they fight tooth and nail until they discover they write well together. They also might find each other really attractive, but that’s neither here nor there.

When their writing project turns out to be a success, the two of them decide to start up a secret partnership together using a pen name, infiltrating the self-publishing market in the lucrative genre of erotica. Naturally, with so much heat and passion between the pages, it’s not long before their dirty words become a dirty reality. Sure, they still fight a lot but at least there’s make-up sex now.

But even as they start to fall hard for each other, will their burgeoning relationship survive if their scandalous secret is exposed or are happily-ever-afters just a work of fiction?

EXCREPT

She holds my gaze for a moment and something passes over her. Regret, maybe. Then she nods. “Sit down. Let’s work.”
And so we do. And for the first time in a long time, it’s strained. I’m about to suggest maybe we need the Estonian vodka anyway when she lets out an exasperated sigh over something she’s reading. It happens to be something I wrote.
“What?” I ask, wondering what I did wrong. She gives me the the 'are you kidding me?'look.
“Okay, I was ignoring it earlier but I think you need to get a grip on some of this shit. This simply does not happen.”
 “Explain, please.”
“I just think it’s unrealistic for there to be so much talking, let alone the fact that the first time they do it it’s in a public place.”
 “Too much talking?”
“Yeah.” she scans over the document.
“You know, give me your cock, oh you feel so good, harder, harder, you’re so big, fuck me harder big boy.”
“Have you even had good sex?” I ask incredulously. She flinches.
“Of course I have. And it’s none of your business.”
“We’re writing about sex. It’s completely my business. I’m not letting you interject your edits based on your personal experiences about sex because believe me, if the sex is good, you’re moaning my name.” She raises her chin.
“Maybe all those girls were faking it.”
 Oh, brilliant.
“Excuse me?” I say, hands pressed against the table, nearly getting out of my chair.
“You have no idea. I pride myself in giving a girl as many bloody orgasms as she can handle.” “Bloody orgasms don’t sound like fun,” she jokes softly.
“They can be if you’re into knife play,” I tell her, even though that’s not exactly what I meant. Still, she scrunches up her nose.
“Don’t knock it until you try it, but that’s neither here nor there. When you were with Alan, he must have made you come at least a few times.” If he didn’t, I feel like finding the guy and showing him a thing or two for wasting four years of her life.
“Yeah,” she says flatly. “And in the middle of that orgasm, didn’t you want to yell a few things?” “Sometimes.”
“And why didn’t you?” She looks at her nails as if they’re suddenly fascinating. “It didn’t seem right. It was…too intimate. I would have felt dumb. He didn’t like any of that stuff.” The plot thickens.
“Any of what stuff?” “Sex that didn’t involve the missionary position or the bed.” My mouth drops open. My brain and penis can’t compute this.
“I feel so sorry for you.” We must remedy this. She glares at me.
“It’s not like I didn’t want to do it. I did. And he did try it. Most of it. But it always went back to the same old.” I knew it. She’s a nerd on the streets and a freak in the sheets.
“I don’t mean to brag,” I tell her in all seriousness. “But you do realize that I could give you an orgasm in thirty seconds.”
Her eyes widen. I can’t tell if she’s horrified or intrigued.
“I don’t believe you and I don’t want you to try.” She’s not getting it. I frown, trying to explain.
“If you’re having good sex and it’s with someone you’re comfortable with, you won’t worry about holding back. You’ll cry out all the nonsense you want, you’ll make noises like a pig and scream like you’re on fire because you truly can’t have a good orgasm unless you’re letting go on all accounts.” I lean back in my chair and study her, running my fingers along my jaw.
“I would venture that every time you came with your ex, you were only experiencing half of what you should have been. How is it with your vibrators?” I expect her to tell me to fuck off, that I’m getting too personal but to my surprise she gives me a small smile. “It’s better. But I do have a roommate with exceptionally good hearing.”
She clears her throat.
“Anyway, so I guess I’m wrong. The heroine can make all the noise she wants.” “And have first time sex in public.” “I don’t know…”
“Believe me, when you finally get a chance to fuck, you don’t care where it is. That’s why I always have a condom in my pocket. And the more public the sex, the sneakier you have to be, the hotter it is.”
“But in the book you would never get caught.”
“You don’t always get caught in real life too.” I can see she wants to ask me where I’ve done it but she loses her nerve.
“Okay.” She looks back to the document. “I accept defeat.” But I don’t want her to. I want to prove to her I’m right and not have her take my word. Is there a non-creepy way to show her just how amazing good sex can feel? I’m thinking not. Or…maybe there is.

ARC Review: "The other Side Of Gravity" (The Oxygen Series Book 1) by Shelly Crane

The Other Side Of Gravity by Shelly Crane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

    Summary from GoodReads

My name is Maxton and I’m a trader.

I live on a soulless planet where gravity, oxygen, and everything else are sold to the highest bidder on the black market. People are sold on the black market, too. You have to work really hard not to become one of those people. Pay your taxes, keep your friends and family close, and more than anything else—don’t get caught by the Militia. But all the rules changed for me the day I found her.

My name is Sophelia and I’m a stowaway.

I’ve been a slave for almost as long as I can remember. Waiting for the one day, one second, for my proprietor to turn his head so I could run and never look back. Now I'm on the run. And on a planet where no one is on your side and people would turn you in for a good meal or a piece of a silver, being on the run on Landu is the last place you want to be. Until he found me.

    I won't survive without him.

    I can't breathe without her.

    REVIEW

At first glance "The other side of Gravity" may look like any other dystopian novel set in the future. But what makes it unique is not the genre but the setting and the worldbuilding.

Sophelia lost her mother when she was little. Because she couldn't pay the taxes on her mother's stand, the system made her a slave and sold her. Years later Sophelia manages to escape from her owner and that's when she meets Max. Max is a black market dealer who sees something in Sophelia and together they will travel across a futuristic city searching for a safe haven.

The scary part about this book was the pills everyone had to take. One to help them breathe in the outside atmosphere and one to be able to walk on the surface. There is not enough gravity and you must either have magnetic boots or you must take the pills.
There is no social care system and only the rich can enjoy the priviliges of their caste. You must even have a license if you want to have sex because apparently oxygen is very expensive (eye roll).

Sophelia and Max are two characters who despite their demons and circumstances are able to find something in each other and be there for one another. Max teaches Soph how to cares for herself and she on the other hand makes him feel more.

The tech and the secondary characters are great and the story is told in dual POV. Not to mention there is also a cliffhanger in the ending so be prepare to tear your hair out. I will patiently wait for the next book and it is recommended if you like a good sci-fi with doses of swoony scenes and humor! ;)

    About THE PROBLEM WITH FOREVER:

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes a riveting new story about friendship, survival, and finding your voice.

For some people, silence is a weapon.

For Mallory “Mouse” Dodge, it’s a shield.

Growing up, she learned that the best way to survive was to say nothing. And even though it’s been four years since her nightmare ended, she’s beginning to worry that the fear that holds her back will last a lifetime.

Now, after years of homeschooling with loving adoptive parents, Mallory must face a new milestone—spending her senior year at public high school. But of all the terrifying and exhilarating scenarios she’s imagined, there’s one she never dreamed of—that she’d run into Rider Stark, the friend and protector she hasn’t seen since childhood, on her very first day.

It doesn’t take long for Mallory to realize that the connection she shared with Rider never really faded. Yet the deeper their bond grows, the more it becomes apparent that she’s not the only one grappling with lingering scars from the past. And as she watches Rider’s life spiral out of control, Mallory must make a choice between staying silent and speaking out—for the people she loves, the life she wants, and the truths that need to be heard.

Praise for THE PROBLEM WITH FOREVER:

“The intensity between Mouse and Rider is palpably sizzling… romance aficionados [will] lose themselves in Mouse and Rider’s smoldering glances and steamy kisses.” -Kirkus

“Armentrout’s effort to gradually coax her protagonist from her shell via a supportive, loving community succeeds, and readers looking for an inspirational comeback story will find Mallory’s to be satisfying and hopeful” –Publishers Weekly

     REVIEW

I knew from the moment Jennifer had mentioned it, that this book was going to be much different than her usual ones. It's darker and emotional and the book dealt with lots of angst and emotioanal rollercoasters.
Mallory is a young girl who after homeschooling is ready to attend high school. It's there that she meets Rider, the boy who was her friend and protector during their brutal childhood. Through Mallory's POV we see her thoughts, fears and hopes about her life in the school and the struggle she has with making friends and dealing with her feelings for Rider.

There is no sugarcoatting this book. It deals with child abuse, PTSD, drug trafficking and the 'holes' in the foster care system. Though all the above themes are shown in the story, Mallory is the one where the plot centers around. She has trouble with speaking and Rider can understans her for that. After an bullying incident in the school he is the one to step in and help her, even if he has his own demons to chase.

For the lovers of Jen's writing...there is no mention to all our favorite series like "Supernatural" and "the walking Dead". All the supporting characters were equally amazing in their own way, even when Jennifer tore my heart towards the book's ending.

This book may be one of the most serious ones Jennifer Armentrout has written so far but it does not diminish the great writing and the cruel world some people have to deal from a tender age. Totally recommended. ;)

Release Day Blitz+Excrept+Giveaway: "The Neverland Wars" by Audrey Greathouse

    The Neverland Wars
    Audrey Greathouse
    Published by: Clean Teen Publishing
    Publication date: May 9th 2016
Genres: Fairy Tales, Retelling, Young Adult
Magic can do a lot—give you flight, show you mermaids, help you taste the stars, and… solve the budget crisis? That’s what the grown-ups will do with it if they ever make it to Neverland to steal its magic and bring their children home.
However, Gwen doesn’t know this. She’s just a sixteen-year-old girl with a place on the debate team and a powerful crush on Jay, the soon-to-be homecoming king. She doesn’t know her little sister could actually run away with Peter Pan, or that she might have to chase after her to bring her home safe. Gwen will find out though—and when she does, she’ll discover she’s in the middle of a looming war between Neverland and reality.
She’ll be out of place as a teenager in Neverland, but she won’t be the only one. Peter Pan’s constant treks back to the mainland have slowly aged him into adolescence as well. Soon, Gwen will have to decide whether she’s going to join impish, playful Peter in his fight for eternal youth… or if she’s going to scramble back to reality in time for the homecoming dance.

    EXCERPT:

A flash of lightning electrified the sky, shooting light through the forest with a jarring pang. The boom of thunder followed immediately after. The sky was grey and the clouds shifted like a swarm of dark fish in a pond. Gwen feared she would be caught in a storm, but not a drop of rain had fallen yet.
All at once, Gwen found herself in a meadow. She had never been here before; she knew that. Wildflowers cropped up in sporadic clumps, and the long, green grasses were uncut at her calves.

The tree line had suddenly broken. One minute, she was racing through the forest, the next, she was floating here. Pausing to catch her breath, she ironically felt safer in this open area than in the claustrophobic security of the forest. She landed gently, unthinkingly. Turning her head to the sky, she saw the faint grey clouds blowing and rolling away. Darker clouds seemed to be coming to take their place.
On the other side of the meadow, Peter burst into the clearing. Bramble was leading him, guiding the boy to poor, lost Gwen. If Gwen had understood the fairy language, she would have already known that.
    “Gwenny!”
“Peter?” Gwen shouted. She ran to him, and between her bounding strides and his quick flight, they met in the middle of the meadow, cornflowers and lilacs growing up around them. Perhaps if he had been on the ground initially, she would have hugged him. Peter lingered in the air for just a moment though, and by the time he landed, the impulse to hug each other had melted away into urgent discussion. “What are you doing out here?” His voice carried the sort of anger that only accompanied concern.
“I got lost in the woods; I was trying to come back. Is something wrong, Peter?”
Bramble flitted back and forth, pacing in the air, objecting to Peter and Gwen having this conversation now, rather than when they were safely underground.
“The opposition, they’ve launched an attack. We’ve got to get to cover.”
“What? No, it’s just a storm.” Gwen didn’t understand what Peter was telling her, but she had already made up her mind that she didn’t believe it.
    “Gwen-dollie, we’ve got to go. There’s—”

The sky was suddenly drained of light. The thin, grey clouds that had blocked the sun were eclipsed by darker, brooding storm clouds, and as the daylight faded, small, grey flecks began to rain down. As they drifted softly, Gwen knew it wasn’t rain. Her attention was as captivated as Peter’s was, but she did not understand what it was the way he did. “Snow?” she asked quizzically, looking at the grey and dirty powder as it started to fall around her.
Peter held out his hand and caught a flake of it, crushing it in his hand. It left a smoky residue on his palm. “Ash.”
The winds picked up, and more of the ash furiously fluttered down. It became larger, and Gwen could hardly comprehend the charred flecks of paper that were plummeting down. Peter zipped up into the air, jumping more than flying, to grab a large square of it. He came back down immediately, a look of horror on his face.
“Peter, what is it?” Gwen pled, hoping that her fear was born of her unknowing, that if she only had answers she wouldn’t be afraid, but from the look on his face, she knew that answers would only bring more fear.
The invisible hand of the wind grabbed the paper from out of Peter’s hold. It blew straight to Gwen. Catching it, she realized it was a page from out of a newspaper; the title read—ISIS ATTACK ON ERBIL; HUNDREDS DEAD.
She had seen newspaper headlines before, but this news did not belong here. Not in Neverland. It was too dark, too terrifying of a thing to read amid the lilacs and cornflowers. Again, she begged, “What is this, Peter?”
The page was torn out of her hand by the vindictive wind. Peter answered her, with a word she had never feared so greatly. “Reality.”

    THE POST PROMPT:

What are your favorite genres in books?.

     MY ANSWER:

The first genre I loved reading was the historical genre with books like "The Bronze Horseman". Then I discovered Science Fiction, Paranormal romance, dystopia (the time when I read Divergent) and Time travel novels.

Now I also do like Urban Fantasy, and any NA with a good sense of humor and romance in it!

    ABOUT MISTER O:

✮✮✮MISTER O will be available on Kindle on release day May 2!✮✮✮

Just call me Mister O. Because YOUR pleasure is my super power.

Making a woman feel 'oh-god-that's-good' is the name of the game, and if a man can't get the job done, he should get the hell out of the bedroom. I'm talking toe-curling, mind-blowing, sheet-grabbing ecstasy. Like I provide every time.

I suppose that makes me a superhero of pleasure, and my mission is to always deliver.

But then I'm thrown for a loop when a certain woman asks me to teach her everything about how to win a man. The only problem? She's my best friend's sister, but she's far too tempting to resist--especially when I learn that sweet, sexy Harper has a dirty mind too and wants to put it to good use. What could possibly go wrong as I give the woman I've secretly wanted some no-strings-attached lessons in seduction?

No one will know, even if we send a few dirty sexts. Okay, a few hundred. Or if the zipper on her dress gets stuck. Not on that! Or if she gives me those f*&k-me-eyes on the train in front of her whole family.

The trouble is the more nights I spend with her in bed, the more days I want to spend with her out of bed. And for the first time ever, I'm not only thinking about how to make a woman cry out in pleasure --I'm thinking about how to keep her in my arms for a long time to come.

Looks like the real Adventures of Mister Orgasm have only just begun....

**MISTER O is a standalone romantic comedy and it follows supporting characters first introduced in BIG ROCK**

"A sexy, delicious, toe-curlingly good time!"

    - NYT Bestselling Author Marie Force

"Nick is hilarious, sexy, passionate, sweet, and knows that cake is very important to a woman's heart and soul. Together, their banter is refreshing, their sex is off-the charts hot, and their minds are brilliant." - Sandra at Two Book Pushers

                                                                     PROLOGUE

Ask me my three favorite things and the answers are so easy they roll off my tongue. Hitting a homerun for my softball league, drawing a killer cartoon panel, and, oh yeah, making a woman come so hard she sees stars.
Not gonna lie. That last one is my favorite, by about a mile. Giving a woman a sheet-grabbing, toe-curling, mind-blowing orgasm is pretty much the Best Thing Ever.
A woman’s climax is like summer break, Christmas morning, and a vacation in Fiji all rolled together in one fantastic package of window-shattering bliss.
Hell, if we could harness the beauty and energy from women coming, we could probably power cities, solve global warming, fix every problem known to man. The female orgasm is basically the manifestation of everything good in the world.
Especially when I deliver them, and I’ve given thousands upon thousands. I’m like a superhero of pleasure, a good-deed doer, the once-upon-a-geek-now-a-stud, and my mission is to dispense as many climaxes to my lovers as possible.
How have I managed to achieve this amazing feat? Simple. I’m both a student and a master of the art of giving Os. I consider myself an expert because — in the interest of full disclosure here — I’m completely, 100% obsessed with a woman’s enjoyment between the sheets. Getting her off is the name of the game, and if you can’t get that job done, you should get the hell out of the bedroom.
But, hey, I’m also humble enough to admit I’m still a learner.
Since there is always something new to discover with a woman.
Does she want it soft, hard, fast, light, rough? Does she like it with teeth, toys, my cock, my tongue, my fingers? Would she want a little something extra, like a feather, a vibrator, or some sort of fantastic combination of all of the above? Every woman is different and every path to her pleasure is its own erotic journey with so many fantastic stops to make along the way.
I take mental notes, study her cues, and always get out and do the field work.
I suppose that makes me the Magellan of the female orgasm. A true explorer, venturing forth, fearless and ready at any moment, to map the terrain of her pleasure until she cries out in rapture.
Fine, some might say I have an addiction.
But really, is it a bad thing that I love to make the woman I’m with feel good? If that makes me a guy with a one-track mind, then I’m guilty as fucking charged. I’ll freely admit that when I meet a woman I’m into, I’m picturing in seconds what she looks like coming, how she sounds, how I want to send her soaring.
The trouble is, there’s one woman I just can’t go there with, even though lately my brain desperately wants to figure out how to drive her wild. It’s been an epic battle, and I’ve had to keep her in a special drawer, locked, sealed and key thrown away because she is the definition of hands off.
Which sucks royally because she’s about to make things even harder with the words that come out of her mouth.
