He shakes his head ever so subtly, his fingers bruising my skin. “After all you’ve seen, all you’ve done, all you’ve felt, and you’re still blind to the world around you. This is your world, Hanna. My jaw tightens as I try to ignore the way my heart is skipping in my chest. “You’re sounding sentimental.”
“You’re mistaking sentiment with facts,” he says, lowering his masked face toward mine. “A mistake I’m sure you won’t make again. You belong with me, because that is the bargain we made. There’s a finality in his words that makes my blood run cold. For a moment he loosens his grip and sighs deeply. “I know you don’t like being told what to do, but you could have had it all,” he says, almost wistfully. “You could have had my trust. My heart skips again. “Who said anything about love?”

Following the first book's events, Hanna slowly discovers her own origins and what it means to weave through the intricate politics of the Underworld along with Tuoni, god of Death. It is not easy not when he has trust issues and she also has to deal with lost prophecies, serious family drama and her own growing powers.
Was it filled with action?
Yup.
Full steamy? Oh yes, let me point out chapter 19....
Was there a criminal cliffhanger? Yes and one that will make me wonder and highly anticipate the next book of the series.
Plus the way this book slowly moves on, makes me wish to also get in the future books about Tunoi's children and if they will get their own adventures on earth.
Highly anticipated and filled with romance and action this is a great sequel!
