summary from GoodReads

After her family is killed by corrupt warlord Aric Athair and his bloodthirsty army of Bullets, Caledonia Styx is left to chart her own course on the dangerous and deadly seas. She captains her ship, the Mors Navis, with a crew of girls and women just like her, whose lives have been turned upside down by Aric and his men. The crew has one misson: stay alive, and take down Aric's armed and armored fleet.
But when Caledonia's best friend and second-in-command just barely survives an attack thanks to help from a Bullet looking to defect, Caledonia finds herself questioning whether or not to let him join their crew. Is this boy the key to taking down Aric Athair once and for all...or will he threaten everything the women of the Mors Navis have worked for?

REVIEW

Do you remember the movie Waterworld? With Kevin Costner, the pirate boats and the endless adventure? Well, take out the excessive leather, put in a crew of amazing girls in arms and filled with loyalty and sisterhood, give it a far more amazing world building and you have Seafire.

Caledonia and Pisces along with their crew at Mors Navis are the epitome of finding your strength in family, in never giving up even if everything around you collapses and having friendships, which transpire blood ties. And the beauty of the book? The romance is a subplot, which adds the sweet taste to the story but doesn't encompass it.

Instead, you have amazing battles, worthy of Pirates of Carribean, characters who may seem strong but they are human and try to make the right choices and even a hate to love relationship. Seafire empowers, gives the readers a thrilling ride and it will not be easily forgotten after THAT ending!
